Current Mustang Studio residents:

Milo is playing in the snow. He’s a frisky, lovable gelding who has found his permanent home here.

Previous Mustang Studio residents who found their forever homes:

Opus is an older black beauty who found a new home with an accomplished horsewoman in Tularosa. A quick learner, Opus is expected to take part in dressage competitions.

Willow was a removed from her Western Colorado range by the Bureau of Land Management when she was only two years old. She grew into a feisty little mare who loves to run. Willow is now a riding horse for her new family in Los Lunas.

Porfirio is a very calm gelding who arrived with Milo. His adopter has taken him on mountain trails and taught kids to ride him.

Maya is an assertive mare who was easy to train and became comfortable with Anja sitting on her. She now lives with a family in Truchas.

Lluvia is a little mare from the Placitas herd. She arrived wild and left as a gentled, people-friendly horse, keen to slide her head into the halter and go for a walk. She’s now reunited with her herd at a Placitas sanctuary.

Beautiful La Llorona inspired lots of photography at Mustang Studio and indulged us as we braided her luxurious hair. She is now at a sanctuary with her friend Tango.

Selkie and Amber came from the same Western Colorado herd as Willow. Selkie, a very smart mare, now lives in Amarillo, Texas, where she became a muse for a poet (read an essay about Selkie here). Amber now lives in Peyton, Colorado, much loved by her new family.
